Описание
Welcome to Casa Eva Wagner from Biertan! We are waiting for you to enjoy a traditional holiday in one of the most well-known tourist areas from Transylvania.
We are located in the immediate vicinity of the Biertan fortified Evangelic Church, UNESCO monument from the XII century. This is the last remaining church from Transylvania which was built in a gothic style.
You will get in contact with a lifestyle which is long gone from the rest of Europe. Traditions and customs which are centuries old, culinary recipes passed from generation to generation, locally produced wines and many other surprises are waiting for you in this medieval village.
We have a full capacity of 20 guests, 5 double rooms, 1 triple room, 1 quadruple room and 1 studio with a kitchen and a separate entrance. All the rooms have their own bathroom and access to the shared kitchen.
The interiors unravel a traditional architecture with Saxon influences. We tried to keep everything as simple and authentic as possible so that our guests can enjoy comfort in an ambiance which reminds of the old civilizations which developed this community.
This is not a place for the luxury lovers, it is a place for history lovers and for those who want a rural experience without TV and internet. Letșs not forget that we are in the countryside, where floors do squeak, dogs bark and roosters crow.
Activities
The village of Biertan is picturesque. It has fascinating landscapes and medieval constructions which are waiting for you to discover.
The best known attractions from the area are:
The Fortified Church, an UNESCO monument with unique elements in Europe, located right by your holiday home.
The Biertan Museum is nearby and it hosts old Folk clothing, Saxon pieces of furniture, traditional handcrafted pieces.
The Covered Staircase, located at 150 meters, which will take you to mysterious places.
The Clock Tower, from where you can watch the surrounding towering houses, the hills, the forests and the grasslands.
At a 2 minute walk from the location you will find the Tower of Slanina, the place where you can taste and even take home some of the best food.
We recommend an outdoor movie night in the Melies Garden.
Via Transilvanica passes through Biertan, and the stamp can be found here.
This year, Biertan won the title of "Storytelling Village" at the Destination of the Year.
The Eva Wagner house is often taken over in various TV materials, being presented in the show "La Maruta" due to its special design and the way it was restored.
