Welcome to Villa Rihuini, a place dedicated to ecotourism and local authenticity — a genuine Saxon guesthouse located in the picturesque village of Richiș (Reichesdorf), Sibiu County. Surrounded by hills once covered with vineyards and orchards, Villa Rihuini offers you a unique Transylvanian wine-tourism experience in a traditional, authentic setting.
A Noble Wine Tradition, Carried Forward with Passion
Our family owns one of the last noble vineyards in Richiș, preserving the craft of winemaking passed down from generation to generation. Our wine is produced 100% by hand, using traditional tools, exactly as it was done in the past. A visit here means much more than a simple tasting — it is a journey back in time, where every sip tells the story of the place.
Accommodation in a Restored Traditional Saxon House
At Villa Rihuini, you will stay in a nearly two-century-old Saxon house, carefully restored using ecological materials (linseed oil, natural lime, mineral-based paints).

Amazing house and family
We stayed for 3 nights as a family of 6 (4 children under 7years). The truly beautifully restored Saxon house was comfortable, clean and a wonderful experience to stay in. Alex our host was so welcoming and kind. His mum made delicious breakfasts and dinner, and the family wine went down very well! He also organised a fantastic horse and cart ride for us. The children loved the garden and exploring up the hill behind the house, as well as around Richis.
We would highly recommend this stay to anyone who is looking for an authentic Saxon experience, time with wonderful people, or to reconnect with nature.
Girls getaway in beautiful Transylvania
We stayed at Villa Rihuini for an extended weekend and enjoyed what our guest and Richis have best to offer - quiet, no urban noise, re connection with nature, local cooked delicious food, a beautiful Saxon house and lots of sun.
Nice experience, nice people
Me and my family stayed in Richis at Villa Rihuini for two nights and we enjoyed every moment that we spent here. Alex and his family made us feel like home. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the home made wine. Alex provided us useful information about the location and about what can we do and what we should definitely visit. All provided information helped us to enjoy our stay here in Richis and we had the opportunity to visit the surroundings (Alma Vii and Biertan). The house and the decorations made me travel back in time in my grandparents house to remember my childhood. This experience was great also for my kids who discovered a lot of interesting things around the house and in the attic.
I stayed at Vila Rihuini for one week. I went there to have an online mindfulness retreat by myself. As one of my friends put it, I donșt think I could have chosen a better place for having my retreat. Surrounded only by sounds of nature for the entire week, I loved how I was given the chance to reconnect to myself and to my inner wisdom.
The hosts made sure that I was properly fed, even if this was a silent retreat, so I could not communicate properly my needs. The food was amazing and the hosts are lovely! Definitely will visit again, next time for trails and forest tours!
We stayed at vila Rihuini two nights and it was a great experience. The food and the wine were great and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I really recommend, beside staying there, to ask for dinner and breakfast.
