Welcome to Villa Rihuini, a place dedicated to ecotourism and local authenticity — a genuine Saxon guesthouse located in the picturesque village of Richiș (Reichesdorf), Sibiu County. Surrounded by hills once covered with vineyards and orchards, Villa Rihuini offers you a unique Transylvanian wine-tourism experience in a traditional, authentic setting.
A Noble Wine Tradition, Carried Forward with Passion
Our family owns one of the last noble vineyards in Richiș, preserving the craft of winemaking passed down from generation to generation. Our wine is produced 100% by hand, using traditional tools, exactly as it was done in the past. A visit here means much more than a simple tasting — it is a journey back in time, where every sip tells the story of the place.
Accommodation in a Restored Traditional Saxon House
At Villa Rihuini, you will stay in a nearly two-century-old Saxon house, carefully restored using ecological materials (linseed oil, natural lime, mineral-based paints).

We stayed just one night but can recommend to atay longer. Fantastic old saxon house and very fresh and clean. Amazing host who got us wine tasting of his own wines and we felt warmly welcome. He and his brother took the whole night spending their time with us. Was great. The garden is amazing!! We will for sure come back!
Wonderful house with delicious wine
Let's start with the house: beautifully renovated home with some modern touches that makes staying there really comfortable. One of the best sleeps I've ever had! That may be also due to an intense wine tasting Alex organised for us the day before :) all the wines were good, but one stole our hearts and taste buds especially!
Alex is a very hospitable host and made sure we were taken care for and had everything we wished for.

Traditional authentic location
I arrived at this location through the warm recommendation made by a friend who deals with tourism. A restored Saxon house, managed with soul and a lot of work by a wonderful family. Everything exceeded our expectations: the location in a quiet village, the prompt and attentive service, the traditional arrangement happily combined with modern facilities, the wine from their own production and the delicious food, cooked in house with fresh natural ingredients. Two generations, parents and two sons, perfectly synchronized, with a purpose: to make us feel at home.
If you intend to spend a few days relaxing in the area, I warmly recommend you to choose this accommodation!
Good vibes
The house has been renovated and is being run by two brothers, Alex and Ovidiu, who are some of the most cheerful and hospitable persons I met. It goes so well with their side business of local wine producers and wine tasting. There is always something to do and visit in Richis or around at daytime and evenings are charming on their veranda with a glass of wine and a bunch of interesting people around. Richis is really a curiosity of a traditional Transylvanian village where photographers, engineers, Bloggers and all kind of life vibrant people chose to spend their lives. During summer time there are also cultural festivals in the region and one can do also nice hiking and cycling. Villa Rihuini is in the middle of this and a great place to get into the Transylvanian vibe.
