'DOR DE SUFLET' (Longing the Soul) Guest House is about experiencing the connection with the traditional Romanian life-style in a confort of a modern world.
You allow yourself to reconnect with your soul and your roots through a piece of a world that has been brought back to life in the traditionally restored house of „Muscel” area (a Romanian region between Bucharest and Brasov).
The location is a property of 4500 sqm in Dambovicioara village, a unique place located between two mountain passes, the Keys of Dambovicioara and the Keys of Brusturet at the foot of the Piatra Craiului mountains.
In the middle of nature, you will be welcomed into a small village with up to 200 people who live their lives in the same way as their ancestors. You can see the locals raising cattels and sheeps like the old days that date back to 400 years ago.
The unique accommodation is offered by the restored traditional house (dated in 1905) with help of local artisans and crafters, enlarged with an equipped kitchen and two bedrooms with their own bathroom.
The old house structure has kept the traditional customs of welcoming the guests. It is composed of the dining room and the living room that intrigues you with a warming fireplace.
The care for tradition and details is more obvious in the interiors where the new furniture (made by local craftsmen) and old furniture create a melange of good taste.
The location is ready to welcome up to 4 people in the two bedrooms, but the number of guests can be enlarged up to 6 using the sofa in the living room (especially equipped with hotel mattresses).
The Guest House is perfect for family, group of friends or a company council of creation ready to stay focus on a project to be born.
The price includes accommodation, breakfast as well as a basket full of organic local products and traditional dishes prepared in our house, homemade sourdough bread, tea from local plants and aromatic coffee.
At the guests request dinner can be served with extra charge.
Activities
- Discover the fauna and flora of the Carpathian forests while hiking the marked trails, or simply stroll through the village and admire the picturesque scenery.
- In the surrounding areas we recommend that you visit places that are loaded with Romanian culture, history and tradition: Dâmbovicioara Cave, Nămăiești Mausoleum, The Triangle of the Cave Monasteries: Cetăteni, Nămăiești and Corbii de Piatră, visit to sheepfold.
- Your visiting route must include the most beautiful tourist spots in Transylvania: Făgăraș Fortress, Bran Castle, Brașov City or Râșnov Fortress.
- Bran Castle, also known as Draculașs Castle, is 30 km from 'DOR DE SUFLET' Guest House.

One of the best places I've been to!
We really enjoyed the 2 nights spent at the Dor de Suflet Guest House, it is a cozy place in a nice village. It's ideal for anyone who's searching for a relaxing environment where they can disconnect from the chaos of the city life. The host, is a wonderful person, we enjoyed talking with her and she made us feel like we were visiting a friend, even though it was the first time we were there.
The place is very clean with everything you need at hand.
It's close to Bucharest, a lot of places you can take a walk and enjoy the nature.
Just perfect for 2 couples.

cu adevarat o locatie minunata in Piatra Craiului, dincolo de muntele si cheile extraordinare, veti gasi poate cea mai buna cazare din Romania, la nivel de dotari, calitate. Poate nu veti crede ca intr-o mica casuta reconditionata veti gasi confort si materiale de 5 stele, dar asta nu i nici macar the top of the top, sufletul este locul si Monica este sufletul. De aici nu veti pleca doar cu o experienta de cazare minunata, ci si cu certitudinea ca aici, la noi, exista oameni, implicati, minunati, care fac mai mult decat experienta in sine.
A lovely stay with family and friends
The guesthouse and its host made our stay memorable, along with the idyllic landscapes around.
Beautiful design that keeps traditional style alive, along with modern influences, turn this accommodation into a comfortable and spacious retreat.
There are many activities to do in the area and we had a fabulous time at Dor de Suflet. We warmly recommend it and hope to be back soon!
PS: the freshly baked, slow rising, sourdough bread is amazing :)

Minunat!
Totul la superlativ. Curatenie impecabila, detaliile de design si atentia in reproducerea casei traditionale ne-au facut sa ne intoarcem in timp. Ideea cu extinderea corpului construit in stil scandinav a fost extraordinara. Gazda extrem de primitoare si amabila , ne a oferit toate preparatele de la micul dejun si cina atent selectate din produse bio.
Va recomandam “Dor de suflet” cu toata increderea!
