Retreat, Relax, Recover or Work Away - This is the best place if you search for a natural bio-area, quite place for relaxation and stress recovery. You can come with your family, loved ones, in two or in a group - let us know how many people you are and how many rooms you need and we will be happy to send you a personalised proposal. The minimum stay is 2 nights.
Casa Noah - Sleeping and Relaxing in the gardens
The name of the house comes from a Saxon Poem written as a legend many years ago, in which the most important character was the old former Saxon owner of this house, nicknamed “Noah”. We will tell you the legend at the fireplace, outside in the garden, among other stories, of course.
We have 3 different original Saxon houses (400 years old) with a total of 4 units (each unit having 2 double rooms + 1 bathroom + kitchen) and 2 separate double rooms with private bathrooms and access to kitchen (we have several kitchens, dining rooms outdoors and indoors, so you can feel and have your own privacy if you need it).
We offer the possibility to cook for yourself, using the special rooms for this. At Casa Noah we offer a traditional atmosphere with a touch of eclectic details.
The Yellow House has 4 big rooms with original high ceilings decorated partly with Saxon furniture and other objects, photos that we have found in this house. We love to play regarding the interior design, we love the bohemian feeling and above all we love sustainability process.
Therefore, everywhere around you in the house you will find different old authentic objects that we saved from being thrown into the garbage, that we restored and revalued giving them another life in our Casa Noah.
There is a huge courtyard with different places to chill, relax, read books that you bring with you or find here, with different working spots (we provide good speed internet) if you need, with fruit trees, flowers, old barns where you can hind yourself from the burning sun, outside traditional furniture or dining places.
Just next door to the Yellow House, where we also live, there is the Green House which is connected to us also through a backdoor between the courtyards. Here we have the main old Saxon house with two bedrooms, 1 kitchen in between, 1 inside bathroom and 1 outside toilet (in the barn).
Opposite this, there is another small blue building in the same courtyard, which used to be the traditional summer kitchen. We transformed it in a double bed room which has itșs own very small kitchenette area and also access to a private bathroom from the outside.
In the back of the courtyard, there are the old stables where you can find another double bed room, 1 small half opened summer kitchen and 1 private bathroom with an outside entrance from the barn. You can have your lunch or dinner open air in the 800 square metres garden or in the big barn - there is plenty of space for everyone.
Very close to the old evangelic church in Richis, our 300 years old Blue House has a special flavour and a private delightful 600 square metres courtyard. There are two big double rooms with 1 kitchen in between, a bathroom with a vintage tube and a bohemian old barn, where you can also sit in the Summer time for dinner or for a siesta.
Village - Richiexperience
A fairytale land, Richis is one of the most beautiful Saxon villages in Transylvania, being close to important historical and beautiful cities like Medias, Sighisoara, Sibiu, Targu Mures and Dumbraveni. We love to call your adventure here “Richiexperience”, because coming to this village means much more than a simple vacation.
Coming here means to open your heart gates into experiencing The Richis Phenomenon.
People come here and forget to LEAVE, but remember to LIVE. Being close to the unspoiled nature is amazing, the colourful and different human beings that are part of the community created in the last years make this village unique, loveable and unforgettable.
If you don't end up in buying a house here as well, for sure you will come back several times. A powerful cultural nest, Richis is just 5 minutes away (by car) from Biertan Fortified Church, part of the Unesco Heritage.
On the other hand, in the heart of the Richis Village, there is a hidden jewel - The Evangelic Old Church, where you can discover and explore its secrets together with the last remaining Saxon and the soul of Richis, Mr Johann Schass. Nevertheless, Richis is well known for tasty good white wine, delicious locally sourced food and never ending green hills, where you can loose yourself in picturesque hikes, alone or together with us and our dog, Noah.
In the last years, there have been some great efforts from individual people who bought some houses and also from NGOs to rebuild and sustain the hundreds years old Saxon Houses with natural and ecological materials. The village people welcome you with an open heart and astonishing clearness and simplicity.
Culinaire and Nourishing Food
You can cook for yourself, but we can also provide breakfast for an extra fee or traditional meals (including options for vegetarians, vegans or people with any kind of special diets).We can either cook ourselves at Casa Noah for you or we organise dinners “out in the village” with special families and local partners that will offer an unforgettable culinaire experience. Ourselves, we use as much as we can organic ingredients and herbs from our own vegetable gardens, from the neighbours, as well as eggs, meat, cheese, honey, marmalade and jams, fresh fruits, famous “zacusca” or “slanina”.
When we are out of season in the village or the tiny local production is over, than we travel in villages around us where we ask for locally sourced ingredients.
Our last solution is Medias with the farmerșs market or the famous small bio shop nearby. We have a very well known locally sourced wine, sometimes produced by us or by a small family business from Richis, well known for the quality of their products, that also organise wine tastings.
We love traditional food, but we are also experiencing new recipes that follow vegetarian/vegan options or ayurveda based. Trust us and we can organise for you a memorable Culinaire local trip during your stay here.

Experience the surroundings
Paul is a local and international tourguide and Catrinel is a tourism agency manager, so together we can organise for you wonderful Transylvanian trips for an extra fee or happily offer advices and tips for where to go for free.We can rent you bikes for exploring this “Tuscany of the East” on two wheels or we can go on a safari jeep trip with a bohemian picnic stop. If you want to go on a ride with the old wooden carriages, just let us know and we will find the right one for you.
We can make daily trips to get to know the locals or to a higher point from where you can see the Carpathian Mountains. We can even organise a mountain day trip or suggest you to go instead having a salty healthy bath either in Bazna or at Ocna Sibiului.
If you want to explore Transylvania in a cultural way, than we can suggest a few interesting old churches around, other unspoiled villages - such as Copsa Mare, Alma Vii or Nemsa or you can get the chance to catch during your stay a cultural event organised in the area - such as Sonoro Music Festival or Icon Arts.
Retreat and Recover
I, Catrinel, am very passionate about different types of gentle body movement, meditation and essential oils treatment. I can offer for ladies an essential oil treatment with Doterra oils, called “Cells Symphony” or we can meditate together if you feel like.Moreover, our friend, Elena, has renovated an old Saxon house making her dream come true and transform it into a small beautiful spa, called - Zen Barn Spa. She offers different kinds of extraordinary massages and therapies, where you can treat yourself like a king or a queen.
We can organise and make an appointment for you in time. Getting lost into the nature, listening to the birds or just playing with our delicious cat, Noelle or our dog, Noah will help you restore as well. We are not finished with the description, but we leave space for surprises and unknown - therefore you can contact us anytime you want.

Simply put: I love this place! The green surrounding it, the vibes, the local design and coziness, the hosts, the community. I was there with some girfriends one summer, but also with my kids and husband. The kids can run around and enjoy and learn new things about the nature and the adults can relax reading a book or just having a coffee with Catrinel and Paul. Catrinelșs breakfast is colourful and full of nutrients and Paulșs travel stories can keep you busy for a full afternoon. The local cuisine is the foodiesș paradise and one of Richisș best kept secrets. Walking around and meeting the neighbours is also super fun to do while there. Love it and fully recommend it!
