Bikers and nature lovers alike can now take a breather next to an old fortified church in the heart of Meșendorf village.
A charming trail helps you sneak off into the forest from the main path connecting Sighisoara and Viscri, cuts across the old apple orchard, and enters the village through the garden at house 65. There, eager to receive guests and share stories, the hosts, Adi and Oana, will welcome you in their restored barn with an aged cheese tasting menu.
Made by them along with other villagers, the cheese is prepared at the farm with raw milk from cows fed on grasses and herbs particular to the high valued nature areas and untouched pastures of the region. After being aged for at least three months in the cellar, the cheese is served alongside seasonal fresh or dried fruit and walnuts from their garden, home-made seed crackers, jam/chutney or local honey, a small dessert and a refreshing glass of wine.
Scenic landscape lovers and history passionate tourists with more time to spare may visit the fortified church built between XIV-XVI centuries.
We have 16 places in the barn and 12 places in the garden.
Season: April – October
