Husky sled ride through Harghita Mountains is a unique experience that you can enjoy in magical Romania. This sport is more specific to  Alaska or the Nordic countries, but the dream landscapes and the prolonged winters in Harghita create favorable conditions in our country.

The routes are traveled through secular forests, carved by wild animals, being well known that in the mountains of Romania live approx. 50% of Europe’s large carnivores, except Russia.

Endangered birds, insects and many other species protected by law have found their cradle in this unchanged land from any point of view.

I am Zoltan Parajdi, your guide through these childhood fairy tales. I propose 3 routes that I named according to the degree of difficulty:

• Short tours:
  Group sledding over a 2 km easy trail, seated in the sled or standing in front of the musher, with a draught of 8-10 dogs, approx. 15 minutes.
  Price: Children: €20/person up to 50kg, over 50kg is considered an adult
  Adults: €30/person, up to 95kg
  Adults: €40/person, over 95kg (under unsuitable snow conditions, i.e. warm weather, soft snow, we are not able to offer sledding for overweight persons)
  (Suitable for groups of 10 or more)

• Medium length tours:
  Group sledding over an 8-10km moderate trail, seated in the sled or standing in front of the musher, with a draught of 8-10 dogs, approx. 90 minutes.
  Price: €100/person, up to 95kg
  €130/person over 95kg (under unsuitable snow conditions, i.e. warm weather, soft snow, we are not able to offer sledding for overweight persons)
  (Suitable for groups of 2 or more)

• Long tours:
  Sledding over a 20-25km difficult trail with a draught of 8-10 dogs, full day experience, lunch included. We are not abe to offer this tour for overweight persons.
  Price: €300/person
  (Suitable for groups of 2 or more)

So, whether or not you have experience in this sport, expect the adventure of your life.

Season: December – March, depending on the weather conditions

The route must be planned according to the weather, and in the mountain the weather is very changeable, especially in the winter. Therefore, reservations must be made with at least 3 days in advance. There is also the possibility of customized routes, in which case the above rates may vary.

All the routes have as a starting point Miercurea Ciuc, considered to be coldest place in Romania.
