Casa Criţ 164… unravel the charm of the old days, in an over 200 year-old Saxon house, in the heart of Transylvania.
Crit is a picturesque village located into the hills of Transylvania. Attested by documents from the XIII century, inhabited until recently mostly by Saxons, it has kept its charm, traditions and gastronomical patterns untouched.
Casa Crit 164 is located on the main street of the village, street listed as a historical monument. At the end of the street you can find the tall, proud, beautiful fortified church. The old Saxon house which was restored by the village’s craftsmen using the old days materials and techniques will take you to a romantic travel back in time once you open its gate. Enjoy it!
Behind the Saxon gates, the yard which is edged by body buildings will greet you with lavender and honeysuckle smell.
The house can host 8 people. There are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious kitchen with a covered terrace and the barn, made in 1784, transformed into an unconventional living room. The whole house has old, original Transylvanian furniture…the lamps, the hand woven carpets which are 100 year-old and the antique stoves create a special ambience for the lovers of tradition and authentic.
Crit is the perfect place where you can visit the famous fortified churches of Transylvania: Viscri, Mesendorf, Cloasterf, Roades, Saschiz, Archita. They are all just a few km away. The medieval town of Sighisoara or Rupea are less than 30 km away.
For the cycling lovers there is an arranged route over the hills which link the villages with fortified churches from the area. You can enjoy the beautiful view by riding a horse-drawn cart to the neighboring village of Viscri. You can watch the craftsmen work…metal worker, pottery master, beekeeper… or you can visit the nearby sheepfold… or just relax savouring the rhytm of the rural life…
Both in the village and nearby you can find places which serve traditional food made from fresh products grown by the local farmers.
