Located somewhere on the border between the centuries, where history has left its mark, in the heart of charming Transylvania, more precisely at the base of the bohemian Citadel Sighișoara, Casa Savri guesthouse is a corner of a past time and legend waiting for you to cross its threshold.
It is located on Ulița Morii street which was part of European narrowest roads. Our guesthouse is a historical monument (dated from 1568) which makes it part of world heritage site (UNESCO). The restoration process of the building reminds us of a museum, and today our guests can admire here objects collected over the years and an impressive collection of craftsmen tools from different periods.
The name of the guesthouse comes from a former family who lived here over time, approximately in the 1870s. The names of the rooms are taken from the Land Register of the building, names of people that have lived here a long time ago.
Each room is different and unique at the same time, in terms of furniture and decoration elements. All the furniture is made of solid wood, taken from old houses near Sighișoara and reconditioned. The furniture in the Rozalia Room was a wedding gift, received by Rozalia at her wedding. We kept and reconditioned it and is currently in this room.
As a guest of Casa Savri, you have access to the terrace overlooking the Medieval Citadel of Sighișoara, with picnic tables and barbecue equipment. You can also admire the craftsmens work tools here, objects that are part of the authentic elements of the pension.
We are waiting for you every morning with breakfast prepared with traditional dishes, with aromatic coffee and natural juices, homemade bread, cheeses, local meats, but especially with fresh seasonal fruits.
Most of our tourists are foreigners. They tell us that they choose to come to Transylvania for the beauty and age of the Transylvanian villages, the picturesque landscapes, the kindness of the people but also for the chosen foods.
We only prepare breakfast with local, traditional dishes and our tourists are delighted to discover new tastes. On request, we organize dinner where we usually prepare traditional Romanian dishes and even outdoors meals. Most of the time we made in the inner courtyard of the guesthouse a cauldron of different meats.
Tourists are delighted to discover these recipes, to sit by the fire and to taste our traditional brandy (țuica).
