Description

Welcome to Cobor Biodiversity Farm, an inspiring green business model initiated by Foundation Conservation Carpathia. Our beautiful project aims to preserve the rich biodiversity of the area while providing essential support to the local community through job opportunities and the promotion of organic products. At the heart of our farm lies the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, making biodiversity our main attraction.

The farm is a captivating blend of history and nature, featuring three traditionally restored Saxon-style households and an expansive 500 hectares of high natural value grasslands. In addition to our picturesque setting, we take pride in offering exceptional horse boarding facilities, ensuring the comfort and well-being of your beloved equine companions.

At Cobor Biodiversity Farm, we have dedicated ourselves to the conservation of the almost extinct Hungarian Grey cattle, and we proudly maintain a herd of over 200 of these magnificent creatures. As part of our commitment to preserving local heritage, we also run a specialized breeding program for the majestic Carpathian shepherd dog.

Come and experience the harmonious coexistence of tradition and biodiversity at our farm, where the past comes alive amidst the stunning landscapes of South-central Transylvania.

Location

Nestled in the South-central Transylvania, Brasov county, on the picturesque Hartibaciu Plateau, our farm is surrounded by unique natural and cultural values. Cobor village, a small and remote settlement, has a rich history dating back to 1206. Originally a Saxon village, it was later repopulated by Szeklers, a subgroup of the Hungarian people, in the early 1500s.

The village is located in a valley surrounded by rolling hills, with extensive pastures and centuries-old oak and pine forests. If you're arriving by train, the closest station is 20 km away in Fagaras city, while Sibiu airport is an hour and a half away.

Accommodation

We have carefully restored two Saxon-style households that now serve as charming guest houses, blending traditional aesthetics with modern facilities. With a total of 23 beds spread across 12 rooms, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms and most having separate entrances, your comfort is our priority. Stay connected with our complimentary Wi-Fi during your visit.

Events

For special gatherings and corporate functions, our third household, #264, offers a truly exceptional event space. This unique building is specifically designed to host conferences, presentations, workshops, and team-building activities, providing all the essential facilities for a successful event. With a capacity to comfortably accommodate up to 20 seated participants, or even more for standing events, this versatile venue ensures a seamless experience for all attendees.

Equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, our event space features a top-notch sound system and a high-quality video projector, guaranteeing impactful presentations and immersive multimedia experiences. And to keep your guests warm and cozy during cooler months, we have thoughtfully installed a heated floor and a welcoming fireplace, creating an inviting atmosphere that fosters creativity and collaboration.

Activities

Our diverse range of outdoor activities allows you to immerse yourself in the raw beauty of our surroundings, embracing the refreshing feeling of being recharged and rejuvenated. Please note that the availability of these activities is weather-dependent, ensuring that you can make the most of your exploration when conditions are favorable.
