If you are looking to experience the perfect balance between modern comfort and the atmosphere of a traditional Saxon country house, Meșendorf Gasthaus is the place to visit. Located in the charming village of Meșendorf, near Viscri and Sighisoara, and surrounded by the beautiful hills of Transylvania, our guesthouse is the chosen hideaway for travellers in search of relaxation and local culture, traditions and cuisine, but also for the nature and wildlife lovers in search of adventure.
As you might expect, the story of Meșendorf Gasthaus starts with the careful restoration of an old Saxon property, refurbished with the help of local craftworkers. While preserving its cultural heritage and traditional atmosphere, modern facilities were blended in, to ensure comfort and cozyness for our guests.
13 (lucky) rooms are now available for booking, their unique style being suitable for various types of guests.
Beside the rooms, the estate prides itself with a magical 100-years old barn, preserved in its genuine form with the help of a “wooden chamber” that is now hosting the dining room. This is the place where guests can indulge in our delicious traditional cuisine, blending Romanian, Saxon and Hungarian influences and using local ingredients. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available, but we definitely recommend our special goulash to all meat-lovers.

PricesPrices are for double occupancy. For each extra person (up to the room maximum capacity) an additional cost of 20 Eur/night/person is charged. Prices include VAT and a rich breakfast.
ChildrenChildren under the age of 6 can stay free of charge.
Booking PolicyFor a firm booking an advance in the value of 1 night is required at least 7 days prior to check-in. For cancellation with less than 7 days notice, the deposit is not refundable.
Check-inPlease note that the gate closes at 10:00 PM and we don't have a 24h reception. Should you arrive later than 10:00 PM, please call and let us know at 8:00 PM. In case you arrive earlier or depart later, we will be happy to store your luggage while you explore the area or enjoy a delicious meal.
PetsPets are not allowed. Please, don't feed our 3 friendly guesthouse dogs, they have their special diet.
Food and drinksOutside food and drinks are not allowed in the common spaces of the guesthouse. Guests are free to consume their own food and drinks in their own rooms.
SmokingNo smoking inside. There are designated areas where smoking is allowed.
