Potcoava Mountain Hideaway is a horse ranch which hosts a certified equestrian center HorseDream Germany, with authorized instructors and very well-behaved horses.
You will find here 13 double rooms with their own bathroom, restaurant, bar, living room, meeting room and SPA, sized according to our booking capacity. All our rooms are identical in size. 8 of our 13 rooms are family rooms with king-size beds 180 X 200 cm and a bunk bed for 2 children. When you book your stay, we are asking you to specify how many children you bring and how old they are so that we can find the best room for you.
Inside our equestrian center you will have the opportunity to start horse riding (adults and children) and practise the knowledge you gained while you horseback ride into the forests that surround us. The horses are Haflinger breed, originating from Tirol mountains, they are very gentle and suited for the hilly-mountain regions, beginners and children.
Bedding and towels will be changed for free after three nights of accommodation. If you consider to be necessary, we can change them at any time for a price.
Even though the check-in starts from 15:00, you are welcomed to come earlier, you can enjoy the view and the activities. And we are happy to have you after you check-out. The check-in and check-out hours only give us enough time to clean and tidy the rooms.
It is important to mention that you will not find TVs in your rooms. We think that the view and the forest sounds will substitute the TV programs.
To keep the inside clean, we decided that interior shoes are necessary. So please bring slippers/ interior shoes or accept the slippers we offer. We are in the middle of nature, surrounded by forest and it is impossible to return to the house with clean shoes.
Here, at Potcoava, we have a menu of the day which we try to adapt to our guests’ demand. It is important to know that we cannot serve you „a la carte”.
We mostly cook traditional Romanian food, specific to the period you are coming and it is cooked the day it is served. We try to not cook fat or fried food. If you have special requests regarding food (preferences, different dietary regimes, allergies) please tell us at the moment of the booking (use the contact form).
Breakfast is served starting from 8.30, lunch – starting from 13.30 and dinner – starting from 19.30.
They can be changed on demand so that they can fit into your schedule. Children under 4 years do not pay (if they have something from the menu of the day, the additional orders will be paid according to the price list).
Dinner: Bulz, Mix grill – chicken skewers, pork ribs, cheese, vegetables, Paella, baked potatoes, Salad bar, homemade bread, pancakes with a bar of homemade jam.
Lunch: Carrot cream soup with croutons, beef soup, gratin chicken legs, marinated pork neck in the oven, vegetable rice, mashed potatoes, salad, homemade bread, apple tart.
Our lunch and dinner menu do not miss well-known dishes like vegetable stew, peas, mushroom lasagna, stuffed bell peppers, mac and cheese, pasta carbonara, moussaka, meatball sub, chicken wings with butter and parmesan, potatoes with herbs in the oven, bean dip, muffins, doughnuts, fruit sponge cake etc.
Breakfast – Eggs (cooked in different ways), sausages, cheese, vegetables, spawn salad, bean dip, homemade liver pate, homemade zacusca, cream cheese, butter, jam, honey, cereals, milk, water, coffee, herbal tea.
During the day, we offer water, fruit and homemade tuica. You can have other drinks for a price from the reception bar.
*Important: You cannot bring food or drinks which you bought from the outside to the guest house.
In case you want a certain drink, we are happy to buy it for you, but please let us know at the moment of the booking. The fee cap for drinks you bring without our permission is 50 lei/person/1 day and it is automatically included to your final bill.
No matter what direction you are coming from, remember that the access to our guest house is through the village of Brebu, Dambovita county. So, if you use a navigation app, you must know that the passing point is the village of Brebu, Dambovita county.
We mention this because on all maps there is a paved county road 712A which looks to be going to us, but, unfortunately, this road is not paved and will not take you to us.
The right route to Potcoava is paved up to our gate and it is suitable for every vehicle.

Booking PolicyIn order to confirm your reservation, you should pay in advance 50% of your stay. You can cancel for free with more than 14 days before the check-in.
SmokingSmoking is not allowed inside, but you will find some smoking areas outside: at the entrance, on the terraces near the living room and on the restaurant terrace.
PetsEven though we love animals, for the moment we cannot allow pets.
