Satul Banului Guest House is a traditional mountain household, brought to life with great passion and good taste. We await you with unique experiences at the foot of the Bucegi mountains, right in the Prahova Valley. Our rooms are stylish, with local specificity. You will find we have ideal spaces for private events, a spacious garden, chariot or sledge rides opportunities and delicious dishes, cooked according to recipes passed down from generation to generation.
Satul Banului Guest House is located about one and a half hours from Bucharest, in the sub-commune of Măgureni, Prahova county. The nearest airport is Henri Coandă International Airport, one hour away from the guest house. From there you can reach the North Railway Station by train or maxi-taxi. From the train station there are direct routes to the village.
The accommodation unit does not appear exactly in the GPS indexing as we wanted to keep the place intact, full of tradition and quiet for our tourists, so you will receive from us the precise coordinates after you make your booking. The nearest grocery store is only 5 minutes away. If you want to buy local produce, about an hour’s walk from the Satul Banului Guest House, there is Prestigio, a store that sells smoked meat products.
Satul Banului Guest House is an old traditional house, restored by local craftsmen, using old techniques, and enlivened with handcrafted objects, collected from the neighbors’ attics: decorations, ustensils, beams and other old elements.
The interior decoration style of the rooms is inspired by the traditional style of the mountain houses. The rooms bear the imprint of our dear childhood, being named in memory of our great-grandparents: Mother Lina, Mother Flower and Mother Lisandra.
We have three spacious rooms, with comfortable double beds, Romanian decorations and private bathrooms, furnished in a rustic style, but adapted to contemporary facilities. The rooms can accommodate two people, but on request we can provide an extra bed for an additional charge (25 euros / stay).
The household barn is designed for relaxation and meals. Here you can listen to old vinyl music, socialize and taste authentic Romanian wine. There is no wi-fi or modern gadgets because we do not want you to be distracted by the outside world. We place our bet on socializing, wity stories by the camp fire and wealthy meals.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and it is served on location between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. It consists of local dishes, cooked according to recipes passed down from generation to generation.
Lunch is served from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and includes traditional mountain delicacies: soup or borsch, main course and dessert.
Dinner is served from 19:00 to 20:30 and includes entree, main course and dessert.
Lunch (14 euro / person) and dinner (19 euro / person) are not included in the room rate. When booking, please let us know if you would like to have lunch and dinner at our resort. Children aged 4 and under get free meals and children between 4 and 10 years old get a 50% discount on meals. Outside drinks and food are not allowed.
You can choose from a wide range of recreational activities. We offer you horse-drawn sleigh rides in the winter season or rides in old cariages and calashs, built in our village, in the rest of the seasons.
Other activities we recommend you to try are: horse riding, enduro, motocross, visits to the blacksmith’s and the sculpture workshop, bicycle rides, hiking in the forest, discovering the flora and fauna or picking up wild mushrooms. For a memorable stay we offer you three off-road routes, which combine the discovery of history and the impressive landscapes of Romania: Baiului Mountains, the Salt Road and the Reign Road.
Discover the first historical route, the Salt Road, the place where salt has been extracted since the Dacians. The Reign Road is a route that combines knowledge and fascination. You will admire picturesque landscapes while discovering priceless cultural landmarks such as the Heroes Monument, dedicated to the First World War martyrs.
If you want to organize a special event, we offer you the ideal spaces, accompanied by mountain dishes, cooked according to recipes inherited from ancestors. You can have the event in the barn, the former hay storage space (capacity for 10-25 people) or in the spacious garden (capacity for 80 guests), ideal for late summer nights.

Standard package – 1 day (10 hours) – 45 € / person, including coffee, water, tea, lunch.
Maxi package – 3 days – 70 € / person / day, including 2 nights accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, water, coffee, tea.

Guests with reduced mobilitySatul Banului Guest House can not provide facilities for persons with reduced mobility. Persons with reduced mobility and / or having special needs are asked to contact us before staying to see if these requirements can be met.
PetsPets are not allowed in the guest house except in the case of guide dogs, which must be communicated and discussed at the time of booking and will be subject to additional costs.
The behavior of the guestsGuests are kindly requested to behave at all times and respect other guests, employees and property of the Satul Banului Guest House. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation and / or services offered and even to ask guests to leave the guest house if it turns out that they have not behaved appropriately or offensive, abusive. In this case the costs already paid will not be refunded, and the guests will have to pay for any damage to the guest house.
DamagesWe reserve the right to charge additional fees if it is proven that you have damaged the guest house during your stay or if it is proven that there are goods missing at your departure.
SmokingSmoking is forbidden in the guest house (rooms, common areas), and is only allowed outdoors in open and specially arranged spaces.
Payment of accommodation and other servicesBefore releasing your room / rooms, you will be asked to pay the costs associated with your stay, including services and facilities not included in the accommodation.
Cancellation of the reservationReservations can be canceled by guests without paying extra costs up to 48 hours before the actual accommodation. If this time period has been exceeded, a cost equal to the value of one night’s accommodation will be charged.
