Casa Lopo

is a former peasant household which has been recently restored to receive tourists. Such a special place deserved a neverending life, so we polished every corner to bring it back to its former glorious beauty.

The cottage can accommodate 6 people. It has three rooms, including an annex perfect for kids and teens, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, a terrace, a barbecue place, a barn, and a former stable with a garden at the back. We kept everything authentic, as far as possible, using wood and plaster with the smell of old.

The rooms are spacious, with double beds and bedding, ideal for a restful sleep, a wardrobe or a cabinet, a corner dining table and a table with chairs.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for self catering: gas stove, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, toaster, espresso and coffee machine, french press coffee maker, teapot, of course plenty of dishes and cutlery, 25 diferent spices, and more.

The bathroom was recently built and is a washing mashine. You will find towels, soap, shower gel and of course toilet paper.

Free Wi-fi internet is available in all areas of the complex.

The cottage is heated by a terracotta stove, completely rebuilt. This stove not only produces radiant heat, but at the same time supplies all the radiators in the house with hot water. When the fire dies down or if you prefer a more convenient heating method, a gas boiler controlled by a room thermostat starts automatically.

The enclosed courtyard is a leafy feast for the eyes. Here you can relax on a covered terrace, uncork a bottle of wine or unpack the card game. Or walk up a few steps through the village, with Europe's oldest beech forest ahead and the open valley in your back. If you’re longing for wide open spaces, here’s your treat!

At Casa Vale din deal

you will find traditional houses and villas scattered in the pastoral village of Vale, right at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains. A perfect place to escape from offices and urban exaggerations. And an excellent choice for lovers of untouched nature, who prefer to wander through intact forests and taste a pinch of rural serenity, instead of splashing around in the chlorinated pool of a 5-star hotel.

We are located in the special area of the Marginimea Sibiului, called the 'home of shepherds'. Due to the special mixture of Daco-Roman architecture and traditions, Saxon fortified churches, traditional crafts and unique local gastronomy, the region has been declared a 'European Destination of Excellence'. On the one hand in the middle of nowhere, on the other hand only traditional houses and villas scattered in the pastoral village of Vale, the 'European Capital of Culture' in the heart of Romania.

The village nestles on a mountain slope overlooking the vast Transylvanian plain. It is touched by a tarmac road but there are mostly cobblestoned streets and dirt trails leading up into the hills. There you walk through the oldest beech forest of the continent to reach the mountain meadows with its unique flora and fauna, where your neighbors will be sheep and horses grazing freely.

We offer two spacious villas for special demands, three cottages renovated in a traditional style, and a small but comfortable apartment. All homes are self catering accommodations and spread in the village. They have been built from scratch or refurbished from old farmhouses by our own villager-based construction company within nine years of intense work.
We combined local building styles and craftsmanship with contemporary materials, proceeding always with attention to detail and respect towards the traditions of the area. It was a pleasure to watch the cottages grow and their souls revive, while preserving the simplicity of bygone times.
The result is an encounter of different ages and cultures in five oases of well-being, each of them having their distinctive and special ambiance in a place which - as we hope - will remain for a long time spared from the hustle of civilizational imbalances.

Each home has a fully equipped kitchen for self catering, high-speed Wi-Fi, a washing machine and at least a terrace. The two villas also offer a living room with fireplace and a garden with barbecue and parking. Exceptional cleanliness awaits you everywhere.

Additional offers

If you want to pamper your taste buds, our cook serves you breakfast and traditional menus, freshly cooked at the desired time directly on the table. Vegetarian? No problem. Furthermore, you can order local products prepared in households, according to old traditions. Fresh milk, sheep and goat cheese, zacusca, honey and homemade jam, pickles, wine and brandy are some of the delicacies we suggest.

An unmissable experience is the horse cart ride through the mountain area. The trip can take a few hours or a whole day. We can take a break along a stream, where we'll cook a shepherd's stew at the campfire, and we cand extend the tour to our cabin in the mountain meadows where we will spend the night away from civilization.
