I invite you to discover authentic Romania, in a spectacular setting, at the foot of Piatra Craiului Mountains. It seems like time stopped in this place. Centuries-old crafts, customs and traditions were kept, being passed on from generation to generation. The landscapes remained unspoiled and the wild life still continues its unhindered daily routine. Big carnivores, bears, wolves and lynxes sometimes make their presence felt at sheepfolds and households, but people learnt how to live with them. They understood the importance of the human/nature communion.

In this setting which looks like it’s from a childhood fairytale, we built a cabin for the nature lovers, but also for those who are willing to unravel a lifestyle which is long gone from the rest of Europe. My guesthouse has 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a living room and an open space kitchen. The rooms are completely furnished and equipped. In addition to that, we provide all you need in terms of hygiene (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, shower gel, cap etc). The construction is made from ecological materials (especially wood and old bricks), carefully forged by local craftsmen.

Here, you will get silence and privacy. You can enjoy our 3000 mp garden or, if you are an adventurer, you have tens of thousands acres of natural reservation. The Piatra Craiului Ridge is loved by climbing enthusiasts, photography lovers and researchers. Over 1170 species of plants, over 40 species of mammals and over 200 species of butterflies found their paradise here. Many of these species are protected by law, as they are in danger of extinction.

We do not accept visitors, other than the people we accommodate.

For dining, we work with some restaurants from the area which are delivering to us as catering services.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Climbing the Piatra Craiului Ridge, recommended only to experienced tourists;
  • Observing the rock butterfly in the Zarnesti Gorges and the mountain goats in the higher grounds;
  • Watching the sunshine in the villages from the foot of the mountain: Măgura, Peștera, Șirnea, to admire the ridge in all its glory;
  • Admiring the mountain flowers, like the Piatra Craciului daisy or the edelweiss, or other species of orchid, like the blood of the mighty flower or the lady’s slipper flower;
  • Hiking to Cerdacul Stanciului and Marele Grohotiș;
  • Visit to the Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle);
  • Visit to the Rasnov Citadel;
  • Trip with the children to the Dino Park in Rasnov;
  • Visit to the bear sanctuary in Zarnesti.

We had a great stay at King's Rock Cabin! The host was very polite and the cabin looks even better than in the pictures! Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well equiped and the view was breathtaking! Strongly recommend and would definitely come back! Ps: very good coffee!

The overview was very impressive and the cabin has a really nice design. We had a problem with hot water and pressure of it. In every morning we had about 3 or 4 hours without hot water. In the room were a lot of dead insects and the lights has very low intensity. All in all it was a nice weekend with our friends.

The cabin is excellent, the view is amazing and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. The location is near the mountain and although it's in the city the feeling is that you're far away from it :). The place is very clean and cozy.

This cabin is perfect for a couples' few days getaway. It is very cozy and welcoming, I enjoyed the intimacy and the relaxed feeling of the place. Owners are also real nice and helpful. This is not an isolate cabin in the woods, but it offers a great view to the mountains and is very close to the beginning of a few trails, for those who want to explore more. If not, that's okay too - you can spend time inside, enjoying a warm bath or a good book :)

The cabin design is wonderful, the view is great, and the 2 bedrooms are very comfortable, but that's about it. There is not much privacy. The owners live in the same courtyard and you never know when they pop up in the garden. The living room/kitchen has big windows, as can be seen in their pictures, but there are no curtains and there is a road right in front of the windows. So, if you are cooking, eating, watching tv, etc., you feel like in an aquarium, as anybody passing by can see you (tourists and local people). There is also a house right in front of the living room / kitchen that is not finished yet, but once it's done, they will have a direct view inside the cabin. The kitchen is not very well equipped. There is a tiny freezer without a deep-freezer. So no ice and no ice cream. There is a small cooking stove with only one spot. The storage area is very limited. You should not bring a lot of food/ingredients. If you want to cook just bring the minimum and buy everything else on a daily basis from the local shops. There is no gazebo, so no proper barbecue and no barbecue if it's raining. The existing barque is basic and it was not cleaned for us. It had leftover charcoals and a pool of water. There is an umbrella, a table, 2 chairs and a couch outside (interior couch and pretty dirty). The umbrella is not properly grounded, so if the wind blows, you might expect it to fall over, as it did in our case. There are also 2 hammock chairs and one springboard. There is also a dog which is very cute and friendly, but they leave it to you to play with. They leave it out during daytime and they lock it up around 8 in the evening. I like dogs, but i don't like to cook or eat with them around as i have to be careful they don't drool over the food or steal it. In my opinion this cabin is targeted towards hiking people that just want a fancy place to sleep and relax with a drink after a long day. You should buy food from the local restaurants and not bother with cooking. The description should be better and include all the facilities and more pictures. For me, as it is now, it's just false advertising.

The serenity of the place, the design of the cabin and the interior decoration gives you such a warmful feeling! I loved the big windows and the comfortable bed with the white sheets. Everything is very well mixed and there's a lot of space outside. Of course, you can easily reach any hiking route or just enjoy a walk to the forest which is very close.

Just came back from our 2-day stay at King's Rock Cabin. Everything about this place is just amazing: the view, the cabin, the silence, the amenities. It was great way to disconnect from the urban stress. We enjoyed every minute here. The communication with the host was great, he made sure that we had everything we needed. Honestly I think this is in my Top 3 rentals. I would come back here anytime.

That kind of place where you have mixed feelings about spending more time indoor, to enjoy the cosy cabin or outside, to explore the surroundings, as it is verry well placed. The window wall is the piece of resistance, as you can enjoy the view from indoor. Sparkling clear, loved all the details and appreciate the host hospitality. Strongly recommended!

Everything is beautiful about this place: the design and facilities of the cabin, the wonderful view, the nice and welcoming hosts and the cutest dog ever, Cioco :) The cabin is very clean and well equipped with everything you need and those bathtubs are amazing! Strongly recommend it!
