How did it all begin? Did you know that… Samedru is the popular name of Saint Dimitrie who is considered the protector of the village, celebrated on October 26? Fourteen years ago, on the 26th of October 2006, we arrived in Măgura… exactly during his feast day! Since then we have fallen in love with the spectacular landscape and the perfect location in the heart of nature, Măgura being the only village in Romania located entirely in a National Park (Piatra Craiului National Park).
Located in one of the most picturesque villages in Romania, Samedru is the perfect location to make the most of the outdoors! Whether you are looking for an adventure or a relaxing getaway, or you want to feel like you are on a journey to times when stress, pollution or noise were unknown to anyone, here you will reconnect with the rural environment and discover the gifts of the wilderness of Piatra Craiulului Mountains and the village of Măgura. Quiet grazing animals in the field, fresh air, tranquillity and authentic wooden houses scattered on the hills are all waiting for you to discover.
Our premises include two independent buildings, a restaurant and a guesthouse. The buildings resemble two French chalets, combining extraordinary comfort with the greatness of nature. There are so many things to see and to do in this area, that coming here only once is not enough. Anyway, those who come here for the first time will want to return.
The mountains make a fabulous backdrop to our premises. From our rooms, you can admire spectacular views of Piatra Craiului and Bucegi. Our garden is part of the mountainscape with a generous area of about 10000 square meters, it provides amble room for outdoor activities.
Our guesthouse has 19 rooms (two quadruple rooms, each provided with inner staircase and two bunk beds, 6 triple rooms, 10 double rooms), accommodating 46 people altogether. Our beds are incredibly comfortable, and all the bedrooms have their own private toilet.
From December 2016 the boarding house has a SPA centre with 3 types of sauna and relaxation zone (not available during the pandemic). We also have a conference room (supplied with a projector and a projector screen), and an inside playground for children (both the conference room and the playground are not available during the pandemic). Our 3 fireplaces are easy on the eye and make the atmosphere warm and cosy.
After exploring the surroundings, guests can also relax in one of our hammocks!
Travelers who choose our guesthouse come here to admire the delightful landscape and for absolute tranquillity and, thanks to our location in the picturesque village, we can offer them exactly that.
There are many things to do for those who want to explore as well: hiking in the village and in the Piatra Craiului massif, cycling, discovering countless plant species, visiting the Bear Sanctuary in Zărnești, the first nature reserve for captive bears in Romania and the greatest brown bear reservation in the world.
Whatever the choice, we are happy to offer our recommendation! In the village of Măgura there is always something to feast your eyes on and to soothe your soul. You will be mesmerised by the beauty of the places from spring to winter, irrespective the season… Here, the show “Welcome to the holidays with Nea Marin” broadcast on Antena 1 was filmed!
Our restaurant offers a large variety of traditional and local foods, with an accent on natural products which we produce in our kitchen. We buy local dairy, vegetables and other bio ingredients from farmers.

Booking PolicyIn order to confirm your reservation, you should pay in advance 50% of the stay with free cancellation 14 days before arrival. Reservations are confirmed via email. Cash payment is accepted at the reception (we do not have a POS system), proof of payment for the advance.
Child and Extra Bed PolicyChildren aged 0-3 (under the age of 3) are free of charge if accommodated in a room with two paying adults using the same bed.
Children aged between 3-14 years (under the age of 14) benefit from ½ rate, 100 lei / night.
Children aged 14-18 or adults will request an extra bed at the rate of 200 lei / bed / night.
Parents are required to certify the age of the children with an identity document at the moment of the check-in.
PetsAccess to the hotel with pets is prohibited.
SmokingSmoking is not allowed inside the hotel.
Drinks and foodConsumption of drinks and food brought from outside the unit in the common areas of the complex is prohibited!
