Inspired by the world travels and active lifestyle of the hosts, our retreat is a study in contrasts. The peaceful destination’s unique, luxurious blend of traditional style and modern design transports guests far beyond the routine of ordinary life, making every stay one to remember.
Part countryside auberge, part modern chic villa, the intimate retreat is appointed with exceptional traditional wood and stone solutions, while still conveys the easy charm of a relaxed wayside getaway.
Old-world materials like hand-hewn beams, rammed-earth walls and stones carved by local craftsmen are paired with designer furniture and appliances.
Villas are designed to breathe and bring inside the ozone-richest air in Europe, the pride of Soveja region. This style comes to life as an uncommonly comfortable, modern mix. Those dramatic contrasts are evident in the experiences and excursions available to our guests, too.
The property has not only charmed travelers looking for a quiet escape, it is also a basecamp for those seeking out a variety of exhilarating adventures. Horseback riding, fast-paced mountain fishing parties, themed hikes to picking herbs, mushrooms, berries, bitter cherries abound in every direction.
Facilities
- At the villa: free Wi-Fi, table tennis, board games. The multi-storey library leads travelers of all ages and in the world of books, along with a cup of thyme tea, the symbol of our house.
- In rooms: free TV satellite with Netflix, air-conditioning.
- Poolside (to be opened end of July): The heated pool looks over Soveja hills and village.
- Gazebo: Covered oven with integrated barbecue with sitting places by the fire
- Cellar: From our vineyard, we offer wine tastings in our special cellar carved into the hill.
- Meals: Dining options - cooked with fresh local products – upon request.
- Access: Our accommodation is located in the natural reservation of Vrancea Mountains. It can be easily accessed only by car, via concrete roads (DN2L).

Activities
Spending time in Soveja is like stepping into the good old days. Here you can experience rural “chic” in a different, cosier way. Visit farms and homesteads where you’ll enjoy the idyllic daily life of a farm and have also refreshing moments in the swimming pool at the same time.
Travelers can choose from an incredible variety of activities available depending on the season and weather: horseback riding, carriage rides or traditional horse-drawn sleigh rides, fast-paced mountain fishing parties, themed hikes to picking herbs, mushrooms, berries, bitter cherries.
It is also possible to observe or photograph flora and fauna, bike trails and hiking on marked trails.

Life in Soveja
Soveja is tucked in the heart of Vrancea mountains. Located at an altitude of 700 meters, in an ideal natural setting, where the deciduous forest ends and the coniferous forest begins, Soveja is famous for its mineral water springs, ozon-richest air in Europe, refreshing climate and abundant flora and fauna.
Nowadays, the 1500 inhabitants of Soveja live a peaceful life, far beyond the routine of modern ordinary life, living from gardening and pastoring.
Distances: 70 km from Focsani, 120 km from Brasov, 240 km from Iasi and 260 km from Bucharest.
