Description
Standing in front of Casa Marie-Jose, you’ll feel like you just took a trip back in time. That should be no surprise, considering that this house is more than 100 years old.
Once you step inside, you will discover many more traditional elements, since the purpose in refurbishing this house was preserving as much as possible of its original style. Naturally, as we did in Casa Bătrână, we added the comfort travelers need for a relaxing vacation.
Casa Marie-Jose is part of our “hamlet” Dolina Village, together with Casa Bătrână, Casa Stramba and Dolina Glamping. They are all located in Zece Hotare, a small isolated village, part of the Padurea Craiului Mountains.
Between 1.05.2024 and 06.05.2024 the minimum length of stay is 4 nights.
Between 21.06 and 24.06.2024 and 15.08 and 18.08 the minimum length of stay is 3 nights.
The space
Casa Marie-Jose can welcome up to six persons, in two bedrooms and the living room. The old attic has been divided in two bedrooms: the main bedroom with a queen-size bed and the small bedroom, with two twin beds. All beds are equipped with high quality mattresses, so you can get best night’s sleep. The twin beds can be joined on request.
Downstairs, in the living room, you’ll find an extendable couch, which can accommodate two more sleepers on the same premium mattresses. The house has one bathroom with a walk-in shower on the ground floor.
The kitchen is set up with all you need to prepare and enjoy a good meal: a gas burner, dishes, pans, cutlery and a dishwasher. Also, you can always use the bbq outside.
Upon arrival, the fridge will be filled with local supplies for breakfast such as fresh cheese, eggs, vegetables, milk. The products vary according to what is available locally at each certain moment. On request, we can provide on warm meal every day.
The house is heated with a wood stove.
Location and surroundings
Padurea Craiului Mountains are the north-western part of the larger Apuseni Mountains and are a exellent destination for nature lovers.
Whether you love long, easy walks in the nature or are and adventurer going for rafting or rock climbing, this region has it all. Because these are limestone mountains, you can put caves on the list of spectacular sights of the area.
Among the more popular caves here are the Meziad Cave and the Wind Cave (Vântului).
Zece Hotare is a secluded hamlet, tucked in between the forests and hills of the Zece Hoare Plateau. Casa Bătrână lays five minutes away from the heart of the village, where you can find a tiny grocery store for basic products.
The closest village with a trainstation and bigger store is Suncuius, within seven kilometers from the lodge. The closest airports are the ones in Cluj and Oradea.
Accesibility
Zece Hotare is accesible by car via Suncuius. The last two kilometers to the house are gravel road. The road is in good state thus accesible for (almost) all cars and motorcycles. Parking is on the grass, on a plateau at 100m distance from the house.
On request we can pick you up from the trainstations in Suncuius or Bratca or the airports in Cluj and Oradea.
