An old house brought back to life, an oasis of peace and quiet, comfortable and Instagrammable in the heart of Maramureș.
The story of the house, for those who want to hear it, is much more beautiful, the original house being a family heirloom of the 4th generation of owners, built in the 40-50s after the war.
Both the owners, who made the furniture themselves from old furniture/beams collected over time, the people from the village and neighboring villages, who helped to make extensions, the roof and the Gate, left their mark in the design of the house to preserve authenticity, as well as an interior design team.
The cottage has 5 rooms + 1 apartment, all with private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living room with 2 fireplaces.
Poienile Izei village, located in the commune of the same name in Maramureş county, is considered one of the most beautiful places in this part of the country. It is located in the center of historical Maramureş, in a truly picturesque area.
The most important tourist attraction in Poienile Izei is the wooden church, which was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is one of the oldest wooden religious places in the entire area of Maramureş - it was built in 1632, being dedicated to Saint Parascheva.
It is a church that does not impress with its dimensions, they are even small: the nave is five meters wide. Poienile Izei is a rather isolated village and this is precisely its main charm. It is located approximately 50 kilometers from Sighetu Marmaţiei, and those who want to reach it must go on DJ 186 and pass through the communes of Vadu Izei, Bârsana and then Rozavlea.
Once they arrive in the village, tourists have the impression that they have found themselves in a beautiful fairy tale where everything is surrounded by silence and where you can charge your batteries for a long time.
