The Magic Cottage is a Homestay.
Situated in a peaceful village 3.5 kilometers from the famous Salina Praid and 15 kilometers from the beautiful spa town of Sovata, The Magic Cottage offers modern comfort in a newly renovated old traditional cottage. Set in an English style cottage garden, at the top of the village, guests can enjoy absolute peace and relaxation.
The loft has been converted into a spacious apartment with an extremely comfortable Queen size bed and a a luxurious bathroom with stand alone slipper bath and it's own terrace overlooking the garden and the forest.
There is another downstairs terrace for breakfast.
Guests are welcome to use the cottage kitchen. Please co-ordinate with Rosie and the kittens.
The guests have their own private entrance to the property. There is parking in the lane outside the cottage. I'm an experienced host. I'm living in a cabin on the property and I'm always available to assist guests.
The water supply can be interrupted in times of severe drought.
The last 750 meters of the road to the house is a rustic village lane.

Our Magic Cottage experience
Ișve recently spent a lovely weekend together with my partner at the Magic Cottage. Everything has been sublime from start to finish. When you first get close to Ocna de Jos (the village Magic Cottage is based) you are met with incredible 360 views from lovely valleys to imposing hills. The village itself is tiny with only 1000 locals living there and you truly get a sense that you are in the kind of close knit community where everybody knows each other. This is self evident when you hear the funny stories and anecdotes shared by Rosie, the lovely owner of the Magic Cottage.
Once you get to the cottage you are absolutely awestruck by the out of this world attention to detail. Everything looks photo shoot ready. The garden is beautiful, the cottage itself looks as if it is straight out of a fairytale. You genuinely feel a sense of peace and tranquility as soon as you pass the Magic Cottageșs threshold.
The same refined taste is present in the house as well. The attic apartment in which we stayed had everything we wanted from a massive comfy double bed, a beautiful antique armchair which, incidentally, was my favourite place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee/black tea and do a spot of reading, to a lovely bathtub perfect for a relaxing dip after a long day of sightseeing. Speaking of which there are loads of activities which you can do nearby. Things such as visiting the Praid salt mine, the beautiful spa town of Sovata or just hiking through the forest just outside the cottage. However, you can easily just spend days on end reveling in the cosy and intimate feeling of Magic Cottage.
Lastly, a few words about Rosie. She has been an incredible host, laid back, always insisting that we should behave as we were at home. She is extremely kind and friendly with a diverse background which makes for a lovely source of stories based on her experiences in India, England and Romania. She really is the cherry on top of what makes The Magic Cottage great.
I cannot recommend Magic Cottage highly enough. It is the perfect getaway for couples.
Rosie's Magic Cottage is indeed magically and thoughtfully designed to make you escape reality for a little while.
We spent 2 nights here and were sorry we couldn't stay more. Peacefully situated in a lovely little village it definitely helped us disconnect.
We loved the carefully chosen pieces of furniture and decor! Enjoying a bottle of wine on the balcony watching the stars is one the benefits of this beautiful house that worked like a charm for us.
Rosie is a lovely host and we've really enjoyed talking to her and getting to know the story of the place.
Highly recommend and planning on coming back here!
Perfect accomodation
One of the nicest experience we had. Stayed for 3 lovely nights in this heaven location. Quiet and cozy, decorated very nice, near Praid and Sovata . There is a terrace where you can relax and enjoy the view, a beautiful garden with a couple of hammocks, and the bed is amazing.
There are some lovely cats that are waiting for nice people to play with them (say Hi to Goatee from us).
The host is amazing, making you feel at home. You can have a nice talk with her and has this amazing gift of making you immediately feel like her friend.

Can't get better than this
I'm not sure I've had a more pleasant experience than this. The Magic Cottage is one of the best places I've visited so far. The place is very clean and stylishly furnished. Rosie has a few very friendly cats that will most likely love to meet you and keep you company during your stay.
Definitely looking to book again some time.
