Discover the mysteries of Szeklerland through a culinary and crafts tour around the enchanting towns of Miercurea Ciuc, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Sfântu Gheorghe or Gheorgheni! You can enjoy the local cuisine, craft beers and pálinka, or join in the process of local food preparing such as cheese varieties, hungarian potato bread or artisan chocolate.

Besides your chosen meal, this tour includes stopovers at local craftsmen, such as the smith, furrier, weaver, potter, miller, musical instrument makers, furniture painters, lime burning, charcoal, brick and tile maker craftsmen.

By visiting these small workshops, you can find out more about the Szekler community of Transylvania, life stories will be revealed to you, and you can support the preservation of ancient crafts and flavors, fighting sameness and dulling of local culture.

This experience is recommended for couples, families with children and friend groups.

Great way to learn about the Szekler community

Visited the potter and the smith - it was a fun and interesting way to find out about crafts, traditions and the way of life of the Szekler community! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend both Carpathian Escapes and this tour!
