Dear traveler, you are invited to discover the fairytale city of Sighișoara, enjoying a unique experience, spending the night in a 500-year-old Saxon house, accompanied by a tasting of traditional drinks in the cellar of the citadel’s alchemist.
Pensiunea și Pivnița La Teo is situated on the oldest street of Sighișoara’s medieval citadel and offers its guests 4 nicely decorated rooms, which manage to bring back the ambience and the coziness of those days.
The house which has been long known as Sachsenheim, is a 500 year old house with thick walls made of stone and beautiful luminous inner yard with flowers. Judging by the position of the house and the thick walls, archeologists assume the origin of this construction dates back to Saxon colonists (XIVth century). The traces of the Great Fire (30th of April 1676) can still be observed on 2 massive oak beams in one of the building’s cellars.
Both the cellar and the pension are located only footsteps away from the famous Clock Tower, the Weapons Museum, Vlad Tepes’ birthplace, Torture chamber, and the Church on the hill built in the 16th century. You can also visit the nearby medieval towers, which once defended the fortified citadel.
In the spring of 2020, we started renovating the oldest part of the house, which dates back to XIVth century, where we plan to extend our guest capacity with 2 more rooms.
